As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of talent and good luck. The aim is to move your pieces carefully around the game board to your home board while at the same time your opponent moves their pieces toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With opposing player checkers moving in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for specific tactics at particular instances. Here are the last two Backgammon plans to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the aim of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to move her checkers, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely barricade any movement of the opponent by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s chips will either get bumped, or end up in a bad position if she at all tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anyplace between point 2 and point 11 in your half of the board. After you’ve successfully constructed the prime to stop the movement of your competitor, the opponent doesn’t even get to roll the dice, that means you shift your chips and toss the dice yet again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The goals of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to hurt your opponent’s positions hoping to better your odds of succeeding, however the Back Game technique uses seperate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game technique is frequently used when you’re far behind your opponent. To compete in Backgammon with this plan, you have to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This strategy is more complex than others to use in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your chips and how the pieces are relocated is partially the result of the dice toss.
