Enjoying backgammon can be fun, especially if you understand how to succeed by playing excellently. But sometimes a hint or two might assist you even more and make you a more accomplished competitor.

One of the best game plans to succeed is to lock your opposing player in. It will prevent them from advancing their pieces out of your home board. This has to be completed at the start of the game to keep your adversaries 2 pieces in your home boardthere. So you need to move your checkers to points 7, 5, and 4 as quickly as as you can and even two and three if at all possible. Maintain your point of 6 with the six pieces as it is. This will make sure that your competitor can not get out of your home board and help your chances of locking them in to come away with a win.

By blocking your opposition in, they will be looking for double 6’s when all other options have been made to get those two pieces out of your home board. If doubles aren’t rolled, your opponent will be forced to shift 1 checker at a time, as long as they get a six or greater, and leave 1 checker vulnerable behind. Of course while veering off your own pieces, be certain you don’t leave one abandoned where your challenger can send you off to the bar to make your way through their side.

When in doubt, hit. This can help you win because as soon as your opponent is hit, that checker is the checker they need to move before they can do anything else on the board. So if you hit them several times, they’ll have to return numerous checkers back to the board and get around your pieces to succeed. Be certain you do not hit where it’ll cause you to be vulnerable to getting hit yourself. Except of course when will be beneficial to you, as in early in the game when your opposition will not have you blocked in.

Hitting when you have a lock started can also be good because once you get a couple of points barricaded, your challenger will have a difficult time moving their checkers out of your home board and winning. It’s even possible to hit them a number of times and get your barricade finished. That way you will be able to barricade them from re-entering the game board and even having an opportunity at crushing you.

These 2 hints are not the only tactic to succeed, but they are exceptional ways for novices to grow into better enthusiasts. When you master these, succeeding most of the time certainly won’t appear to be such a complex thing to do.
