The goal of a Backgammon match is to shift your chips around the Backgammon board and get them off the game board quicker than your competitor who works harder to do the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Succeeding in a round in Backgammon needsrequires both strategy and good luck. Just how far you will be able to shift your checkers is up to the numbers from tossing a pair of dice, and the way you shift your chips are decided on by your overall playing tactics. Enthusiasts use different tactics in the different stages of a game dependent on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Strategy

The aim of the Running Game tactic is to bring all your pieces into your home board and pull them off as quickly as you can. This plan focuses on the pace of moving your checkers with no time spent to hit or barricade your opponent’s checkers. The ideal time to employ this technique is when you believe you can shift your own checkers faster than your opposing player does: when 1) you have a fewer chips on the game board; 2) all your checkers have moved beyond your opponent’s checkers; or 3) the opponent does not use the hitting or blocking plan.

The Blocking Game Technique

The main aim of the blocking technique, by its title, is to block the opponent’s checkers, temporarily, not worrying about shifting your checkers quickly. Once you’ve established the blockade for the competitor’s movement with a couple of pieces, you can shift your other chips rapidly off the board. You should also have a clear strategy when to extract and shift the chips that you utilized for the blockade. The game becomes intriguing when the competitor utilizes the same blocking strategy.
