As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of ability and good luck. The goal is to move your chips carefully around the game board to your home board while at the same time your opponent moves their checkers toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With competing player chips moving in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for specific techniques at particular instances. Here are the last 2 Backgammon techniques to complete your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the aim of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to move their checkers, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely barricade any activity of the opponent by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s chips will either get hit, or result a damaged position if he at all attempts to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your half of the board. Once you’ve successfully constructed the prime to stop the movement of your competitor, your opponent does not even get to roll the dice, and you move your checkers and toss the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The objectives of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game tactic are similar – to hinder your opponent’s positions with hope to boost your chances of winning, but the Back Game strategy uses alternate techniques to achieve that. The Back Game technique is frequently used when you are far behind your opponent. To compete in Backgammon with this plan, you need to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This strategy is more challenging than others to employ in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your chips and how the pieces are moved is partly the result of the dice toss.
