As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and luck. The goal is to shift your chips safely around the game board to your inner board while at the same time your opponent shifts their pieces toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With competing player chips shifting in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for particular techniques at specific times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon plans to round out your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the goal of the blocking strategy is to hamper the opponents ability to shift her checkers, the Priming Game strategy is to completely stop any movement of the opposing player by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get hit, or end up in a battered position if he ever tries to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your game board. After you’ve successfully assembled the prime to stop the movement of your competitor, the competitor does not even get a chance to roll the dice, and you move your pieces and toss the dice again. You’ll be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The aims of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game plan are very similar – to hurt your competitor’s positions with hope to boost your chances of winning, but the Back Game technique relies on different techniques to do that. The Back Game plan is often utilized when you’re far behind your competitor. To participate in Backgammon with this tactic, you have to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more challenging than others to employ in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the chips are relocated is partially the outcome of the dice roll.
