The best time to use this technique is when you think you might be able to move your own pieces quicker than your opposing player does: when 1) you have less chips on the game board; 2) all your checkers have moved beyond your opponent’s checkers; or 3) the opposing player does not employ the hitting or blocking plan.
The Blocking Game Strategy
The primary aim of the blocking plan, by the title, is to stop the opponent’s chips, temporarily, while not worrying about shifting your pieces quickly. As soon as you have created the blockade for your competitor’s movement with a couple of pieces, you can move your other pieces rapidly off the board. You really should also have a clear plan when to extract and shift the pieces that you utilized for the blockade. The game gets interesting when your competitor utilizes the same blocking tactic.
