As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and good luck. The aim is to move your checkers carefully around the game board to your inside board and at the same time your opponent shifts their pieces toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With competing player checkers heading in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for particular techniques at specific times. Here are the two final Backgammon strategies to complete your game.
The Priming Game Strategy
If the purpose of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to shift his chips, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely barricade any activity of the opposing player by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s checkers will either get hit, or result a bad position if he/she at all attempts to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anywhere between point 2 and point 11 in your board. As soon as you have successfully constructed the prime to stop the activity of your opponent, the competitor doesn’t even get to roll the dice, and you move your chips and toss the dice again. You’ll be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Strategy
The aims of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game technique are very similar – to harm your opponent’s positions with hope to boost your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game technique relies on alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is commonly employed when you’re far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this strategy, you need to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more complex than others to employ in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your chips and how the pieces are moved is partly the outcome of the dice toss.
