As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and luck. The goal is to shift your chips carefully around the game board to your inside board and at the same time your opponent moves their chips toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With competing player chips shifting in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for particular tactics at particular times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon plans to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the goal of the blocking plan is to slow down the opponent to shift his checkers, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely barricade any activity of the opposing player by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s chips will either get hit, or end up in a battered position if she at all attempts to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your game board. As soon as you have successfully assembled the prime to block the activity of the opponent, the opponent does not even get a chance to toss the dice, that means you shift your pieces and roll the dice again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Strategy

The objectives of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to hinder your competitor’s positions in hope to improve your odds of winning, but the Back Game technique utilizes different techniques to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is often used when you’re far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this technique, you have to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This technique is more challenging than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your chips and how the pieces are moved is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
