As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of talent and pure luck. The aim is to shift your checkers safely around the game board to your inner board and at the same time your opponent moves their checkers toward their inner board in the opposing direction. With competing player checkers heading in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for specific tactics at particular instances. Here are the last two Backgammon strategies to complete your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the aim of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to move his pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to completely stop any activity of the opponent by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s checkers will either get hit, or result a bad position if she ever tries to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anyplace between point 2 and point 11 in your board. After you’ve successfully assembled the prime to prevent the activity of your competitor, the opponent does not even get a chance to toss the dice, and you move your chips and toss the dice again. You’ll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The objectives of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game strategy are similar – to hinder your opponent’s positions with hope to boost your chances of succeeding, but the Back Game tactic uses alternate techniques to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is frequently utilized when you are far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this strategy, you need to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This strategy is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the chips are moved is partly the outcome of the dice roll.
