As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of skill and pure luck. The aim is to shift your chips safely around the game board to your home board while at the same time your opposing player moves their checkers toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With opposing player chips moving in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for specific tactics at particular instances. Here are the last two Backgammon strategies to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the goal of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to shift his chips, the Priming Game plan is to completely stop any activity of the opponent by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s chips will either get hit, or result a battered position if he ever tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anyplace between point 2 and point 11 in your board. After you have successfully assembled the prime to stop the movement of the opponent, the opponent doesn’t even get to roll the dice, that means you shift your checkers and toss the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Strategy

The objectives of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game tactic are very similar – to harm your opponent’s positions hoping to improve your chances of winning, however the Back Game technique uses seperate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game plan is commonly utilized when you’re far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this technique, you need to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This tactic is more difficult than others to employ in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the checkers are moved is partially the result of the dice toss.
