The Running Game Technique
The goal of the Running Game strategy is to entice all your pieces into your inside board and pull them off as quickly as you can. This technique focuses on the speed of moving your pieces with no efforts to hit or block your competitor’s pieces. The ideal time to use this tactic is when you think you can shift your own checkers quicker than your opposition does: when 1) you have less checkers on the board; 2) all your pieces have past your competitor’s pieces; or 3) the opponent doesn’t use the hitting or blocking technique.
The Blocking Game Tactic
The primary goal of the blocking technique, by the title, is to stop the competitor’s checkers, temporarily, while not worrying about moving your chips quickly. As soon as you have established the blockade for your competitor’s movement with a few chips, you can move your other checkers quickly from the board. The player should also have a good plan when to withdraw and shift the chips that you utilized for blocking. The game becomes intriguing when your opponent uses the same blocking technique.
