With competing player pieces moving in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the need for particular tactics at specific times. The Priming Game Strategy
If the aim of the blocking plan is to slow down the opponent to shift her chips, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely block any movement of the opposing player by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s checkers will either get bumped, or end up in a bad position if she ever tries to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anywhere between point 2 and point 11 in your half of the board. The Back Game Plan
The objectives of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game tactic are similar – to harm your opponent’s positions in hope to improve your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game tactic relies on seperate techniques to do that. The Back Game plan is frequently employed when you’re far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this technique, you have to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This strategy is more complex than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your chips and how the chips are relocated is partly the result of the dice roll.
