The aim of the Running Game strategy is to bring all your checkers into your inside board and get them off as quickly as you could. This technique concentrates on the pace of advancing your pieces with no time spent to hit or barricade your opponent’s pieces. The ideal scenario to employ this tactic is when you believe you can shift your own chips quicker than the opposition does: when 1) you have a fewer pieces on the game board; 2) all your pieces have past your competitor’s chips; or 3) your opponent does not use the hitting or blocking tactic.
The Blocking Game Tactic
The primary goal of the blocking tactic, by its title, is to stop your competitor’s checkers, temporarily, while not worrying about shifting your chips rapidly. Once you have established the blockade for your competitor’s movement with a few pieces, you can shift your other pieces swiftly off the game board. You really should also have an apparent plan when to back off and move the chips that you employed for blocking. The game gets intriguing when your competitor uses the same blocking strategy.
