As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of talent and luck. The aim is to shift your checkers safely around the board to your inside board and at the same time your opponent shifts their checkers toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With competing player checkers heading in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for particular tactics at particular instances. Here are the last 2 Backgammon plans to round out your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the aim of the blocking plan is to slow down the opponent to shift her checkers, the Priming Game tactic is to completely block any activity of the opponent by assembling a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s checkers will either get hit, or result a battered position if he ever attempts to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anywhere between point 2 and point 11 in your game board. After you have successfully built the prime to stop the activity of your opponent, your opponent doesn’t even get a chance to toss the dice, and you shift your checkers and toss the dice yet again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The aims of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game plan are very similar – to harm your competitor’s positions hoping to better your odds of winning, however the Back Game technique utilizes different tactics to do that. The Back Game plan is frequently employed when you are far behind your opponent. To compete in Backgammon with this technique, you need to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This technique is more complex than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your pieces and how the pieces are relocated is partly the outcome of the dice toss.
